NEW OLD POST!
21-27 October 2021
As I was getting mentally prepared to begin blogging our latest excursion, I realized we hadn’t added anything from our trip to eastern Pennsylvania, followed by a few days in the rainy Allegheny Forest with Lenny and Renee and their dog Casey.

We invited Shanna and Jake and Rhys over for a camp dinner in the RoadHouse. |
 |
Shanna suggested we go see Renninger’s Antique and Farmers’ Market in Kutztown. It was such fun and we even did some Christmas shopping! |
 |
Jake and Shanna took us to the spot where Jake proposed. It was on the Appalachian Trail (a very tiny part of the Trail!) |

The following three photos were from the Allegheny part of our trip but I was having trouble getting these to go where I told them to go. They wanted to “live” higher in the post, obviously! Sheesh. In any case…enjoy!

The coolest slug since banana slugs in the Santa Cruz Mountains! This guy was a beauty! Enjoying a bit of mushroom cap! |

Love this photo or raindrops illuminated by the sunshine—like Nature’s own Christmas lights! |

I loved the Folino Estate Winery fall decor. And, their wine wasn’t bad either. We brought home a few bottles along with a mulled wine “kit” that we used to mull wine for Thanksgiving. YUM.
After we saw Shanna and Jake, we headed to the Allegheny National Forest for some camping with Lenny and Renee Lee and Casey, their sweet dog. While the weather was really rainy half of the time. We visited some local antique places then. We got out on the trails the rest of the time.

Beautiful Pennsylvania hardwood hills, and the rainy atmosphere is somehow comforting (at least to look at!).
