Ohio: Columbus
8-9 April 2022–we begin another adventure
One of the things I’m sad about is missing spring in Leroy Township. Our daffodils have sprouted and a few have even blossomed despite winter doing her best to hang on. Hyacinths are much the same. I know I will miss the redbud trees (first spring for the one by the back patio), the azaleas, the lilacs, the magnolia and the peach daffodils. We plan on returning in early June (actually, on our 32nd anniversary!), so I may catch the irises….
We left while in a little sleet storm. Of course, it melted as soon as it hit, but it was sleet/slush coming out of the sky! That made it a bit easier to leave! We left that in Cleveland as we headed to Columbus to see Andrew and Madison. I weaseled my way into going with “the Holdsworth girls” to Madison’s first attempt at selecting her wedding dress. She narrowed it down to 4 dresses and will return in a month to hopefully make her final selection. There were really no bad choices. Except the one I asked her to try, which she said made her feel like she should be a grandma, working in the garden. That one did not make the short list! (But…it too looked good on her and the neckline was flattering. I dared not request any other try-ons!) Sister Natalie made some good picks. Can’t wait to see the final choice. She will be a beautiful bride!
We joined Andrew and Dan and headed over for Tex-Mex for Dinner at Chuy’s on Polaris. I was SO HUNGRY that I actually ate ALL of the flautas I ordered. They were GOOD.
